Answer to Sally Knows Her Limits!

Don't lose the rally, Sally! If that officer hiding behind the trees up ahead stops you for speeding, you'll never get back on schedule.

The problem is that Sally's rally car has a speedometer calibrated in m/s, not km/hr, and she's too busy driving to do the conversion.

Isn't it fortunate that you have the time to do the conversion? Great! Convert the speed limit (100 km/hr) into m/s for her. Better write it down, in case you have to convince the officer!

To convert from km/hr to m/s we need to multiply by 1000 m/km and divide by 3600 s/hr. This works out to dividing by 3.6 [(m/s) / (km/hr)]. This is a convenient factor to remember!

100 km/hr / 3.6 (m/s)/(km/hr)=  27.8 m/s
