Left to Right: Karen, Stan, Janine, Mark, Diane

Best viewed in thousands of colors!

Diane (Mom)

Diane is a former elementary teacher who is heavily involved with District 300's Local Writing Assessment Program. She conducts training sessions for both teachers and scorers, and helps keep the scoring process going smoothly. She also substitutes for Dundee-Crown English teachers. Diane is a recent past president of the Carpentersville-Dundee Area League of Women Voters and also past president of the area Lutheran Brotherhood Branch. She is currently a member of the State Board of the League and was recently elected to be a State LWV Vice President.

Diane feels that she qualifies as a computer widow. She enjoys mystery novels and public television. The picture doesn't begin to do her justice!

Mark and Janine

Mark earned his master's degree in music education from Western Illinois University (1997). After three years as a band instructor, he is now working as a travel accounts auditor for an international medical supply firm.

Mark and his wife, Janine (nee O'Brenski) are living nearby in Des Plaines, Illinois. Their current accommodations are palatial in comparison to their Macomb digs! We celebrated their marriage July 20, 1996. It was an event filled with joy, laughter, praise and above all, tons of love from family and friends.

Janine also graduated from Western Illinois University with a major in music therapy. When they moved to Des Plaines, the management of their (very large) apartment complex asked her to show apartments and work in the office. The appeal of walking across the street to work (after driving 100 miles a day for her music therapy clients) was too attractive to turn down. Now she manages the place!

Karen

Karen graduated from Western Illinois University (1997) where she majored in elementary education. We are very proud that she achieved summa cum laude distinction!

Karen is teaching third grade at Parkview Elementary School in Carpentersville, Illinois. She has very large classes of ethnically and socio-economically diverse students. Karen has discovering that elementary teachers don't have much time for a life outside the classroom!

Karen has devoted some serious time to running, both for exercise and competitively. She ran (and completed) the 2000 Chicago Marathon in a very respectable time.

This is an old picture of Karen and a larger one with Maggie peeking at the camera in Mark and Janine's Macomb house!

Stan

What can I say? I 'yam what I 'yam, as Popeye would put it. I do spend too much time with this marvelous toy (the computer), and the WWW hasn't helped! I've got a great family. I am truly blessed!
