I was asked about Windows XP file and printer sharing for the second time this week. And for the second time, after thinking about it, I sent the puzzled individual to the same two pages.

A Vivisimo search recently found a great little primer page on internet and file sharing under XP. This tutorial is very basic, which is just what some of us want.

Some networking connection problems with file, internet, printer, etc., sharing occur when XP's built-in firewall is turned on. Don't turn it off, open the right port! Same deal with third party firewalls.
