Fetch Art Applescript for iTunes

A must-have with the new printing capabilities in iTunes 4.5.

Fetch Art is an Applescript which works inside iTunes to get album art for all the songs in a playlist. It adds the artwork to each song's file (mp3, aac, whatever), permanently. Understand that the additional information will increase the size of the file, allowing your iPod to hold fewer songs. Try it on a few songs to see if you can live with the size penalty. I rip to a higher bitrate already, and don't yet have an iPod, so file size is not really important to me.

This Applescript uses amazon.com, or the UK or German Amazon sites (FetchArt>Preferences). Based on my extensive use in my 4,000 song iTunes library, amazon.com finds almost all mainstream Pop, Rock, and Alternative music. It finds most classic Jazz and Blues art. It bats .000 with Classical (Art) music. Out-of-print and obscure stuff is probably not going to be found.

I'm going to fill in my remaining art by manually searching Google Images.

Note: the link above also includes a download of the Jaguar version (see "Related Links"). If the old version gets pulled and you need it, message me. I kept a copy of the installer in my archives, and will be happy to pass it along.
