1968 Chrysler 300 Custom - (built 1990) I built a bunch of "slammers" when I was in college during the '90's because I had all these ideas for hot rods & customs and building a model car was the fastest way to get them out of my head. i built this model car from a stock Johan '68 Chrysler 300 kit. This one was sort of inspired by a similar real Chrysler 300 that use to cruise around in my home town of Springfield, Ohio. I chopped the top and leaned the front and rear windows to visually stretch the car's already massive length. I also filled in the fender skirts to hide the rear wheels and make the car look like it was sitting on the ground. Notice the painted bumpers, brush stroke graphics, and purple paint. It looks a little dated now but this was the style during the late '80's and early '90's. This was model pictured in Scale Auto Enthusist magazine.
