Consciously simplistic this film shows how the repetition of a single drawing is able to cast the illusion of rhythm and depth when enhanced through the use of camera movement and changes in exposure settings. Made from a single square drawing this film attempts to create compelling imagry out of a symbol as simple and primitive as a square.

A relationship grows stronger and stronger until it is eventually threatened by its own streangth and a choice must be made. This film is an exploration of that choice.

In the last several years I have become increasingly interested in color, particularly the play between hot and cool colors in low light situations. So when taking on the challenge of atempting an animated a project in softamage, I was first drawn to its final gathering capabilities. This technique allows two objects to reflect and absorb each others color and is a wondeful aprouch for creating complex lighting effects. This was a relativly simple expirament but the complex results which it generated are in my opinion very rewarding
