I got this book when I was about five years old. I saw it in a book rack in Walgreen's drug store and I was instantly captivated by the cover. I had my parents read it to me over and over. I didn't really understand it at first, but I was fascinated by the pictures. The text is clearly geared for gradeschool kids, but contains much more math than you would find in any book for that audience today.
I really like the illustration style in this book. Space is a sparkly bright place, and the astronauts all look quite happy to be there.
It will always have a special place in my collection because it was my space book number one.
