The purpose of this flight was to verify the model's stability and proper operation of the recovery system before investing a lot of work in finishing. In the photo at right, Shawn McCoy displays the clear side of the V2. The two chutes and inner structure of the V2 are clearly visible. The shade canopy of the LCO's table is visible in the background.
The model flew fine off a 6 foot 3/8" rod, with a noticable but not severe weathercocking. Two chutes were used - an 18" green chute packed on top to act as a drogue to pull out a 50" black chute. The recovery system functioned fine. The metal nose from the IMEX kit broke off on landing and was lost. This was later replaced with resin.
