Rocketry

Rocketry is a hobby that evokes both my interest and nostalgia. Like so many people in computers and engineering, I tinkered with rockets in junior high and high school along with many of my friends. Looking back, rocketry was pivotal in helping to cement the direction of my interests and career choices.

I rediscovered rockets a couple of years ago. It provides a nice concise engineering challenge that is a refreshing contrast to my work where projects may take months to years, and I've gotten further away from direct engineering. There are a lot of other hobbies I find fascinating, such as R/C airplanes, scale modeling, and robotics. Though they're interesting, they tend to require long project development times, which is not what I need from a hobby.

The buttons below provide information on the rockets in our fleet. They're divided into categories to make browsing a little easier.
