Meet the MACstrong Team

MACstrong Total Sports Experiences is directed by Steven MacGregor and Pamela McKillop, natives of Motherwell, Scotland. They have been living in Spain since early 2003.

Steven MacGregor: Founder and Manager

Steven MacGregor

Steven is a former member of Motherwell YMCA Harriers and Cambuslang Harriers, and Captained the Strathclyde University Harriers XC team for several years. He is the former Scottish Duathlon Champion and still runs and cycles on a daily basis. Steven also holds a PhD in Engineering Design, teaches at Universities in Barcelona and Girona and consults on innovation projects for clients worldwide.

Pamela McKillop: Quality tourism manager

Pamela McKillop

Pamela is a trained dancer and dance teacher (ISTD), with teaching and performance experience in Edinburgh, Glasgow and London. She is responsible for non-sports activities, including tourist information - restaurants, culture, beaches - with a focus on shopping! Pamela teaches English in Girona as well as teaching dance classes in tap and jazz. She has also recently completed some modelling work for Beth Morgan in the UK.

Anne-Marie Hughes and Stuart MacGregor come over several times during the year for group tours. This core MACstrong team is backed up by local runners, cyclists and triathletes, including members of the local Triathlon Costa Brava and FCBarcelona (cycling) teams. Other guest guides and coaches from the UK and Spain also work with us on an occasional basis.

Stuart MacGregor: Cycling guide/coach

Stuart MacGregor

An active cyclist, Stuart has been cycling seriously for several years, building up from 4th Category in 1998 to Elite in 2002. A member of C21 Multisport/Specialised Stuart has completed the Irish RAS twice (2000 & 2005), was Scottish RR bronze medallist in 2004 and Scottish Division 1 Champion in 2005. Stuart is in a position to offer the best advice on cycling performance and enjoyment, from beginners to Elite. After all, this is a journey he himself has taken over the past few years.

Anne-Marie Hughes: Running guide/coach

Anne-Marie Hughes

Anne-Marie is an active road and cross-country runner and sports teacher at Strathclyde University in Glasgow. She has influenced countless runners in Scotland at all levels, from the jogscotland network and other beginners through to national selections. Anne-Marie competed in the World Mountain Trophy in 199 and has a sound understanding of sports physiology.
