Doing Something With Your Life

A dear friend of ours is what I would call a big picture person, for he sees far beyond the appearance of things before him. I suspect he possessed this ability when he was much younger.

Our son recently emailed us this quotation by Marie Curie: "We must believe that we are gifted for something, and that this thing, at whatever cost, must be attained." Does our friend possess a gift? Is it necessary for him to attain this gift at what ever cost? And specifically what is his gift?

Diana and I believe he is gifted with a loving personality. He loves those around him and receives love from his many friends. He has told me many times that he does not understand why he has lived so long. "Why have I lived so long?" Perhaps that can not be answered. Diana and I think we know a reason for his longevity. What would we have done without our close relationship which began previous to December 2003. It offered us much strength throughout this beautiful year 2004. When we needed to have our spirits lifted we would go visiting. We'’ve laughed, we shared love unconditionally. We don'’t need a reason to visit, just drop in, take a chair and chat for a while, that makes for a personal friend. Thank you for being our friend.

If you don'’t do something with your life, it doesn't matter how long you live.
