i really examined this piece of work closely, as you can see.

but why is nips teaching a class? i don't know. but about this point, i suddenly made the leap that nips did in fact have employment--as an instructor at the kansas city art institute.

the disconnect between the illustration (DAZE) and the text (Dase) is pretty glaring. but i've seen him tag both ways.





See the sketched underpaint? It's a pentimento of blue-green sprayed on. Then Dase laid on the silver paint on, coat after coat, until you can't feel the stone texture.
Wow, it looks like metal--feels like plastic.
I wonder how long it took to make it, Nips? An hour?

Who knows.

It took a long time, considering the exposure.

It overlooks the Plaza--anyone could see you.

Consider--it will soon be cleaned away . . .

Such a risk for such a short-lived piece of work.
