winter of crows - page 37 (i'll be digital doppler didn't see this coming)

i've got a real fixation with the weathermen in this town--hell, every town, these days, probably. digital doppler, accucast, long-ranger . . . the words they jumble together and make up and twist around to try to make the weather seem more exciting. judas priest, i swear, it's like they were writing the great american novel . . . in freshman english in college. it's just the weather, let it go.

. . . and in the end, the animals show a little pity on christopher. after all, he is truly pathetic.
