winter of crows - page 15 (chris isaak is forever blue)

'cats are everywhere.'

'that doesn't mean they can sneak up and scare the crap out of me.'

good times, good times.

also, 'if i love her, it'll make everything all right.'

if i had had my wits about me, i'd have used lines from chris isaak's album forever blue, but i did not have my wits about me. probably from listening to too much chris isaak. that man's music did more to make me feel better--and worse--than perhaps any other artist, during the long, hard period of my Great Depression, that wonderful stretch from 1995 to 2001, when every day was an exercise in not throwing myself out a window. i'll be what i am, solitary man . . . look at all you happy people, and i've lost my only one. ad nauseum.

this is a reasonable approximation of the inside of recycled sounds; but i was pretty lazy about it. wash and squiggles of album covers? ugh.

just right of 'jesus, where did you come from?' is the front door and a rack for band fliers, info, and, back in the day, free zines. sparrow's fall has been there once in a while, but i fear the age of zines is pretty much gone.

pity.
