winter of crows - page 6 (breakfast at otto's malt shop)

this house on pennsylvania, a little south of penn valley community college, used to be where a few of my good friends lived, so i know it pretty well. i placed chirp and mortimer here, since i didn't want them to live with chirp. it would be quite a walk for them to get over to 43rd and warwick, but i suppose they need the exercise, especially mortimer, especially going to get breakfast at otto's malt shop. they made the hugest, fattiest omelets, back in the day. the jumpstart omelet . . . i can't remember what it had. it was a little like huevos rancheros, except without potatoes, and stuffed into the omelet, if i recall correctly. it was pretty damned good. for the umpteenth time, i miss otto's malt shop, badly.

a few random notes . . . .

on the front porch is a croquet mallet and some balls . . . they eventually play a role in the comic, but not right now.

see that crow up in the sky? don't forget the crow . . . after all, this is winter of crows, you know.

that is dylan following them; he's headed toward school, but i think he needs a bathroom break.

i would say that christopher is one of the people who 'stay wet forever'. i thought i was, too, for a long time.
