winter of crows - page 27 (the parade of the sausages) 



i'm not entirely sure what happened to this page; it bears two peculiarities. the first is the bottom panel, which is as it is: a whirlwind of i don't know what. the second is the position of the pagination. these problems bear a relationship to each other . . . i can't remember exactly what. i think what occurred was that the bottom panel was meant to show a crow in flight in the snow, or something like that. it failed, and i transformed it into the brick wall beneath the window through which you see the animals parading off to dinner with their sausages. it's not obvious that it's meant to be a wall; but that's what it is. i think.

why is the pagination in the wrong place? i hypothesize that part of the failure of that panel involved the destruction of the page number; and that i chose to transplant it to the panel above, for reasons lost to history.
