kansas city comics creators unite for tsunami relief

it occurred to me that i should post this here, from the kansas city comics creators network blog . . .

The Indian Ocean Basin Disaster, one of the worst tragedies in recent history, with death tolls rising into the six digits, has created a real need for humanitarian aid. Organizations such as the Red Cross are scrambling to raise funds to help out the survivors in the area.

Of course, if you're immediately able to donate, please visit your local Red Cross or go to their website at www.redcross.org which accepts credit card donations.

But this is going to be a long-lasting crisis, with entire islands wiped out, entire sources of economy crippled, and war-torn countries, already devastated, now cut off from the rest of the world. That's why the Comic Creators Network is putting together a benefit anthology to raise funds for the American Red Cross. All proceeds from the sales of this book will be donated.

We're really wanting to get this put together quickly, though. We prefer to have all contributions turned in by the end of January. We're accepting up to six page comix stories, pin-ups, prose, or poetry.

For more information, please contact Rob Schamberger at rob9076@sbcglobal.net or visit this thread at the CCN Message Board:

And again, if you're able, please donate to the Red Cross or any of the many charities raising money to help the survivors of this horrible event.

Thank you,
Rob Schamberger
Events Coordinator, Comic Creators Network

and yes, i will be contributing. if you aren't doing this locally, contact rob to either find out how the CCN is doing this, or to contribute your own work to the CCN relief anthology.
