Nodoka is rescued by Negi when she falls off the stairs in Chapter 1. Since then, she has fallen for Negi, even though he's only 10. She even changes her hair style slightly so one of her eyes would actually show. From then on, with the help of her two friends Haruna and Yue, she tries to get close to Negi. Unlike her classmates like Makie and the twins, her feelings for Negi is quite serious.Her most distinctive feature was her hair, which usually masks one of her eyes, or both. While she appears meek and shy, she can become quite courageous when she sets her mind.

Nodoka actually becomes one of Negi's temporary magic servant later in the series. Her weapon is a book that can read a person's thoughts and record them onto the blank pages when Nodoka calls out the target's name
