Mahou Sensei Negima/Magister Negi Magi - chapter 43 available for download. Tsukuyomi of the Kansai Association assasination group has challenged Setsuna to a duel. It looks like Ayaka and some of the girls in Negi's class are going to join in what seems to be a battle scene dramatization to them. Setsuna quickly uses some of her power to transform the mini-Negi into a larger form in order to protect Konoka. However, the leader of the group from the subway battle has them trapped, with her archer/sniper aimed at Konoka. Can Negi and Setsuna protect Konoka?

Note: I'm currently looking for the cover to Vol. 5 of the Japanese release of Negima. Please let me know if any of you have a scan of it, so I can add it to the Media Lists section. Also, looking for people to write short summaries of the Love Hina manga chapters, since school has kept me from getting a lot of my backlog done. E-mail me if you're interested, and writers will be credited on the site for the contribution.

Mahou Sensei Negima/Magister Negi Magi - today, the distro group MST has uploaded a special file containing the track from the new Mahora Academy Class 2-A soundtrack. The song is Shusseki Bangou no uta (Seat Number Song). However, I am unable to upload it onto my server since I need to conserve space for the chapter uploads. You need to get a BitTorrent client program in order to download the archive which is approximately 15 MB. This song is about 10 minutes long and gives you a chance to hear each of the Japanese VAs lend their voice to the character that they are playing. Some that you'll probably recognize are Yui Horie, Kikuko Inoue, Akemi Kanda, and Natsuko Kuwatani.

And with this comes a little project for anyone who has some free time. Included in the file is the liner notes which I'm very sure have the names of each character and the VA that matches with the character. Although I was able to get some of the VAs matched already, I need some help in figuring out the remaining characters. (I really need to learn to read Japanese when I have some free time)Check the March news in Archived News to look at the characters we already know so far. Thanks to anyone in advance who can help with this.

Notice: Lately, I have been receiving a lot of questions regarding the chapters for Volumes 1 and 2. They have been removed permanently since Volume 1 has already been released in the US in English and that Volume 2 will be in stores on August 3. This is mainly to adhere to an unwritten rule although loosely in this case among fansub groups and distributors that if a series anime or manga is licensed, they should be removed from servers. Also, information about where to download licensed material is not supposed to be made public. The rule for this site is that the chapters that have not been published by Del Rey will be made available for those who want to read ahead, so as to promote this series as much as possible. I will remove chapters corresponding to a particular volume as the official release date in the US approaches. If you are a frequent visitor to the site, there will a notice on this page when the chapters will be removed. Then, when the volume is actually released, you guys that have been downloading will buy it if you like the series, right? Just a reminder, for those of you who use IRC, the fansub group that's translating Negima has a channel. The server and channel to connect to is listed in the first pages of each chapter file if you want to check for missing chapters. When joining, chatting, and requesting, please be sure to follow the rules and be respectful to the members of that channel.

Mahou Sensei Negima/Magister Negi Magi - chapter 42 available for download. Negi, Asuna, and Nodoka manage to escape the infinite loop trap. At least for now they can rest, that is until mini-Setsuna that accompanied them begins to lose communication with the real Setsuna. Meanwhile, someone is chasing Konoka and Setsuna, with Yue and Haruna close behind, bringing them to cinema town. Although they manage to hide out among the crowd in costumes, they are eventually confronted by one of the members of the Kansai Assasination group. It's Tsukuyomi from their battle in the train station, and she plans to defeat Setsuna and take Konoka. Negi arrives just in time to help Setsuna...in miniature form that is.

This week's recommendation is a series that recently completed its broadcast run in Japan, with the first volume released just this past week by ADV Films:

New Anime Recommendation: Kaleido Star

Story: "My dream is to become a star on the Kaleido Stage..." Ever since Sora Naegino was a little girl, she had always dreamed of performing on the Kaleido Stage. From the creator of Sailor Moon comes the story of a girl with a dream, and the many challenges she'll face on the path to become a star. When Sora first arrives in the US, she is very excited to have the chance to audition, although some problems almost destroy her only chance. The owner of the troupe, Kalos, sees a definite potential in her, and gives her this opportunity. However, gaining the approval of the other members, especially by the lead star of the Kaleido Stage, Layla Hamilton, won't be easy. Through all of this, Sora learns many things about the life of a performer and about herself, especially through friendships, love, and the difficult moments she face along the way.

This is the latest series from Junichi Sato, the creator of Sailor Moon, and Gonzo Animation (Final Fantasy: Unlimited, Chrno Crusade, Last Exile, Kiddy Grade, Hellsing, Gad Guard). Think of Cirque du Soleil gone anime, and you have Kaleido Star. The story is a nice mix of comedy, drama, a touch of romance, and a lot of visuals, especially with the performance sequences. Each character is entertaining in their own way, and for some reason, you always look forward to seeing the performance sequences, especially those with Sora as she learns some very important lessons with each role, as many of the shows are based on classic stories such as Romeo and Juliet, Alice in Wonderland, and Cinderella. The first volume was released just last week by ADV Films and with the recent completion in Japan consists of 52 episodes.

Mahou Sensei Negima/Magister Negi Magi - chapter 41 now available. When we last left Negi and Asuna, they were locked in battle against a member of the Kansai Association. Nodoka had also followed them into the endless maze with the mysterious book. With the amount of power this boy has, can Negi and Asuna defeat him? Unknown to them, Nodoka is witnessing all of this nearby and wishes she could do something to help sensei...

Also available in Downloads is the single Ponpon ryoute ni are ba Win from the recent Negima soundtrack . Featured characters this time are the Mahora Academy Cheerleading Trio Shiina Sakurako, Miza Kakizai, and Madoka Kugimiya will be played by Akane Ohmae, Shizuka Itou, and Mami Deguchi. Class 2-A mp3s to be added later.

Vol. 2 translated chapters have been removed from the site. Vol. 2 will be released in the US on Aug. 3. Chapter 41 of Vol. 5 plus mp3 songs for the Mahora Cheerleading and Class 2-A soundtracks on next update.

New licensing news - looks like some surprises have been popping up lately with new series licenses, and probably more to come as this summer's major anime conventions are up.
