The first day of the entrance exams have finally ended and the future
is looking bright for Keitaro; especially since he believers he has found
his promise girl in Naru. However, much like his luck, will Keitaro's
future dim on the second days of exam?
In the aftermath of his promise girl found in Naru being crushed
after Naru declines the fact she could be her, due to her being much to
young to speak fifteen years ago. So Naru, with Keitaro in tow, journeys
back to Tokyo U to see their results. Unsurprised to Keitaro, he finds
out he will be a third-year ronin. Amongst his pity party, Naru runs away.
Soon Keitaro is chasing her only to discover she failed as well. So to
drown out their sorrow, they go to a local bar and, of course, get drunk.
In their drunken mood, they get into a fight, insults thrown, and feelings
are hurt resulting in Keitaro laying on ground bleeding.
What
a night! After a fight between Keitaro and Naru, they both decide to go
on a self-healing trip to Kyoto and other areas of Japan - the unknown
to both that they are both on the same train. In an accident in the aisle
way, the pair looses their glasses. Still oblivious to who they are, they
strike up a conversation. Keitaro and Naru, however, both find their glasses
and
discover who each other. After a brief scuffle, Keitaro makes it to his
hotel in Kyoto after being left on the train. What else lies in store
for our
fated pair?
What was a trip in self-healing has become a trip of injuries and pain
as Keitaro and Naru keep on running into each other in Kyoto. Elsewhere,
two intrepid explorers, Shinobu and Su set off to locate and retrieve
the runaway pair thinking they are eloping. However, Su gets lost and
ends up going the opposite way from Kyoto with Shinobu slowly wasting
away her
savings. In Kyoto, Keitaro and Naru are again united in the bath. The
pair, after making apologies, are walked in by a group of families for
a mixed bathing. Will this end in disaster?
How could this
possibly get worst? Obviously it has when the hotel manager asks Keitaro
and Naru to spend the night in the same hotel room together - as well
as assuming they are lovers. They pair, to blow off some steam (and maybe
some hidden feelings) playing some ping-pong. After a rough game of ping-pong
our pair goes to bed. Keitaro, unable to sleep attempts to see if Naru
is
awake and is shocked by her horrible sleep habits. Will this go well for
Keitaro? Meanwhile, with Shinobu and Suu on the other side of Japan. Motokoand
Kitsune decide to follow them and bring the entire group back (however
Kitsune has a much better idea).
After a rather awkward night, our pair goes off onto a ferry to the next
destination. Keitaro decides to tell Naru how he feels...until he runs
into someone. Keitaro and Naru's entire "vacation" is turned
upside down as they meet Mutsumi Otohime, who is prone to fainting and
illness. After the ferry ride, Keitaro resolves to tell Naru his feelings
- well until Mutsumi asks if
she can travel with them for a while longer.
What
kind of self-healing trip is this? Not only did Keitaro and Naru have
to share a room in Kyoto, but Keitaro and Mutsumi lose their wallets and
resort to sleeping outside. However, in a clever operation, the trio were
able to sneak into a hotel. We soon see Mutsumi's talent: her ability
to handle her liquor but in the result, she gets rather tipsy. Will this
end well with Mutsumi drunk and Keitaro's feelings finally being revealed
through Mutsumi to Naru in the shower? Meanwhile, Kitsune uses Motoko
be get some money by Motoko performing cheap sword tricks.
With their money slowly slipping away, Keitaro, Naru, and Mutsumi decide
to use a raft to get to Okinawa. However, after a fight between Keitaro
and Naru, their raft sinks and our trio sinks to the deeps. However, Keitaro
awakes on a beach to the sight of Naru and Mutsumi playing in the water
- in their swimming suits. Mutsumi, however, faints due to all the physical
activity. Naru decides to get some water and when he comes back, she finds
Mutsumi kissing Keitaro! In anger, she runs off with Keitaro close to
her heels. Will he ever be able to tell her his feelings truthfully? And
what's up with the gift from Mutsumi, a turtle?!
With Keitaro and Naru finally at ease (and alone), we
focus on our other group. Shinobu and Su check into a hotel - the same
hotel where Keitaro and Naru stayed at. Advancing their search, Su uses
her "Mr. Shankara" to locate them while Shinobu attempts to
make some money - by selling match sticks. Trouble soon arises as some
shady Yakuza attempts to "help" Shinobu. However, Motoko and
Kitsune come to the rescue, and they are reunited as well as their search.
This also may be the perfect chance to tell Naru his feelings about her.
