Meet Keitaro Urashima a 19 year old guy with a mission. 15 years ago he
had made a promise with a girl that they would get into Tokyo University
together and live happily ever after. However there are a few problems,
first of all he can't remember
the girl's name or face, two, he's failed the entrance exam twice and
three,he has been kicked out of the house and currently has nowhere to
live. Out of desperation he goes to see his Grandma who runs Hinata House;
an old style, hot spring hotel. What he doesn't know is that Hinata House
is now a womens' dormitory and his grandma has gone on a trip around the
world. Running afoul of the residents after a misunderstanding in the
bath, Keitaro is saved by his aunt Haruka, who allows him to stay under
the false pretence that he is Tokyo U student. When it's discovered that
he's still a ronin, Keitaro tries to flee the scene but before he can
leave, Haruka receives a fax from Grandma Urashima concerning the new
landlord of Hinata House...
: Unable
to accept Keitaro as their new landlord,the girls of Hinata House try
make his life unbearable in the hopes that he will pack up and leave.
One of the residents; Naru Narusegawa isn't too disturbed by Keitaro's
presence and tries to help him out, however after a series of accidents
she joins the other girls in their 'Get rid of Keitaro plan' and proceeds
to inflict as much suffering on Keitaro as possible.
Preparing
for his third attempt to get into Tokyo University, Keitaro heads off
to prep school for a practice test. Judging from his test scores though,
Keitaro has a long way to go before he can fulfil his dream. Fortunately
the girl with the highest test scores in the nation is in his prep class,she
also looks strangely familiar...
Sorely needing
some help with his studies, Keitaro turns to Naru for help, after initially
refusing she allows him to come into her room and study with her. Things
are going along quite well (despite Keitaro's lack of understanding) until
Kitsune, another resident of Hinata house comes in. Not wanting to be
seen with Keitaro, Naru shoves him under the heated table where he can't
be seen.
Shinobu Maehara,
the dorms youngest resident, doesn't particularly like Keitaro and who
can blame her after all the trouble he has caused. Looking to make amends,
Keitaro tries to give Shinobu a helping hand but only succeeds in making
things worse. After upsetting Shinobu even more, a disheartened Keitaro
looks through the resident list to find out more about her, there he finds
out what's really bothering her...
By now most of
the residents have gotten used to having Keitaro as the landlord of Hinata
House, however there is still one resident that wants nothing more than
to see him leave. Motoko Aoyama is a skilled teenage swordswoman with
no tolerance for fools, so when she starts having strange feelings about
Keitaro there's only one thing to do, finish him off in a duel!
