Mahou Sensei Negima - now that Evangeline and Negi have called a temporary truce, things seems to be getting back to normal. Through a short conversation wtih Evangeline, there's a possibility that Negi's father may still be alive. Negi plans to set out to Kyoto under the cover of a class trip. Since they are setting out on this mission, Kamo suggests that maybe Negi contract with Konoka just like he did with Asuna.

Media List Section - Mao-chan Vol. 4 cover added. Also, decided to put the Asuna card featured in this week's chapter release in the section as well.

New anime recommendation will be done next week.

After a nice long vacation, it's time for some updates. Covers for Mao-chan Vol. 3 and the cover of Vol. 1 for the US release of Mahou Sensei Negima added to the Media Lists section.

Itsudatte My Santa has now been removed. I hope you enjoyed Ken Akamatsu's little X-mas story.

Mahou Sensei Negima - getting back on track with chapter releases, Chapter 25 (25th hour) is now available. Narrowly escaping from Evangeline thanks to Asuna, Negi knows himself that he can't run away from this, and that this must end here and now. Now that Negi has contracted with Asuna, it's a two-on-two battle. Although it's now a fair fight, are Negi and Asuna strong enough to defeat Eva and Chachamaru?

This week's anime recommendation is a series that originated in Dengeki G's magazine. Definitely something to take a look at if you enjoyed Love Hina. Vol. 1 of the manga is available in stores, with the first DVD of the anime being released on Feb. 3.

New Anime Recommendation: Happy Lesson

Story: Chitose Hitotose is ready to move back into his house, the only thing left to him by his parents. However, he never expected that he would have roommates, five women actually. Did we mention that they are his teachers as well? Mutsuki Ichimonji (Literature), Uzuki Shitennou (Fine Arts), Yayoi Sanzenin (school nurse), Satsuki Gokajou (Phys. Ed), and Kisaragi Ninomai (Science) have all moved into Chitose's house...as his mothers to take care of him. While all of them have good intentions in mind, this living situation may prove hazardous to Chitose's health, both at home and at school. Yet there's never a dull moment in their lives whether it's scientific experiments, parent teacher conferences, school festivals, class field trips, pageants, dating etiquette lessons, or just trying not to get killed in Chitose's case.

Created by Mutsumi Sasaki, this series first began in Dengeki G's magazine, the same one that brought us Sister Princess. This was a companion series since production was also done by MediaWorks. The anime consists of the Happy Lesson TV series (13 episodes), an OVA (3 episodes), and recently Happy Lesson Advance (13 episodes). There is also a manga version of the series. Both are being released by ADV Films/Manga in the US, with Vol. 1 of the manga already available in bookstores and the first DVD hitting store shelves on Feb. 3. This series has been described as a cross between Love Hina and Sister Princess. It shows more similarity to Love Hina, with the multiple girls to one guy setup with their range of personalities, along with the humor style with the male protagonist constantly finding himself a victim of his five teachers/mothers actions a la Keitaro Urashima. Not to mention that the class president looks similar to Naru Narusegawa with her glasses on and has her own signature punch just like her. The first TV series, the OVA,and manga have already been set for release in the US. Happy Lesson Advance is still available on fansubs by the group #anime-keep, as this was just broadcast in Japan in 2003. This series I highly recommend to fans of Love Hina. For more information about the series, check out this month's NewType magazine (Jan. '04 issue) for an exclusive article and a DVD that contains the first episode.
