Mahou Sensei Negima / Magister Negi Magi - last chapter of Vol. 6, chapter 53 is now available for download. Today is the last day of the school trip. Negi, Evangeline, Chachamaru, Asuna, Konoka, and Setsuna have a meeting with Konoka's father, Eishlen Konoe (The Chief). The Library Club girls and Kasumi decide to tag along as well. Arriving with Eishlen at his summer home, Negi hopes to find some answers about his father's disappearance. Looking at a photograph of Negi's father, Eishlen and their comrades, something seems to bother Asuna. Maybe some answers will be in the package that Eishlen had given him.

Mahou Sensei Negima/Magister Negi Magi - chapter 52 now available for download. Thanks to Evangeline's help, Negi and the girls were about to stop Chigusa. Unfortunately, Negi suffered some injury during the battle as he is beginning to turn to stone. Is there anyone with the power to save him?

Mahou Sensei Negima/Magister Negi Magi - chapters for Vol. 3 have now been removed from the site due to space restrictions. I will upload chapter 52 on tomorrow's update and announce the winner for the site contest.

For this week, we have two anime recommendations, one thanks to my friend Victor who strongly recommended one of them to me, and the other a short, fun spinoff of the anime series The SoulTaker.

Anime Recommendation: Gundam SEED

Story: Kira and Athrun were childhood friends that chose to go their own separate paths. They are both part of a created race known as the Coordinators. As the war between Naturals and Coordinators begin by a single event of the theft of Mobile Suit Gundams on an Earth colony, these two will meet each other again, although under circumstances forcing two friends to face each other on the battlefield in Mobile Suit Gundams. As they both begin to understand the extent of this war, they'll begin to realize their own reasons for fighting and what they choose to protect. Eventually, they along with their friends and allies will shape the outcome and fate of mankind.

Although I'm usually not into any of the Mobile Suit Gundam series, this series definitely has an amazing story that stands out, with story elements for just about anyone from action to even a little romance and drama that definitely leaves an impact on you. Spanning 50 episodes, this series recently began its release on DVD by Bandai Ent. in the US, and is currently being broadcast on Cartoon Network. With the popularity of this series, there is a sequel Gundam SEED 2: Destiny that is currently under development in Japan, and will probably begin broadcast this fall.

Anime Recommendation: Nurse Witch Komugi

Story: Komugi Nakahara is a cosplay idol who secretly is the magical girl Nurse Witch Komugi, and with her sidekick MugiMaru defend our world against Ungrar and his viruses that have escaped from Vaccine World. When she's not busy fighting viruses, she seems to get herself into trouble with her agent and any cosplay jobs that she gets, all while hoping to capture her dream guy Kyosuke Date along the way.

For any of you that have seen The SoulTaker, you will immediately recognize most of the characters that are in this cute spinoff of that series. In contrast to the dark nature of The SoulTaker, Nurse Witch Komugi is a fun ride with this cute little nurse that will make you laugh. The roles of all of the characters from The SoulTaker in this series are completely different as they appear as actors, talent agents, and centerfold idols. This is an OVA series with a total of 5 episodes plus an extra music video episode. The release of the US DVD is being done by ADV Films, whereas The SoulTaker is currently being re-released as part of Pioneer/Geneon's Signature Series. And for those of you who enjoyed the English dub of SoulTaker will be pleased to hear that the VAs for many of the characters in that series were brought back for ADV's dub of Komugi, while using some of their VA talent as well, a rarity in the US anime dubbing industry. Vol. 1 is currently out in the US, with Vol. 2 scheduled for Sept.

Mahou Sensei Negima/Magister Negi Magi - thanks to the visitors who pointed out the incorrect link for chapter 51. My apologies for this error. This is what happens when you work on stuff like this in the late hours. :). Anyways, the link should be fixed now. By the way, in case some of you were wondering, I'm actually not the person or member of the scanlation group that's translating Negima. The credit actually goes to #meow, who have dedicated their time and effort to bring the latest chapters of this series to us straight from Japan.

Notice: Since I'm starting to run out of disk space again, I will be removing all of Vol. 3 from the site at the end of this week. You have until the update on Aug. 22 to finish downloading the chapters. Release date for Vol. 3 in the US has already been set for Oct. 12.

Mahou Sensei Negima/Magister Negi Magi - chapter 51 is now available. Negi and Asuna hear a familiar voice calling out to them. Looks like someone else has decided to join the fight. Negi and Asuna rush in to attack Chigusa's assistant. During the course of the battle, Evangeline appears along with Chachamaru. Seems that Evangeline has decided to help Negi out. Can they stop the monster before it begins to destroy everything?

As I'm sure some of you have been waiting for this, it's time for another contest:

Love Hina Site Contest #3 - up for grabs is the most recent Negima single released a few weeks ago in Japan, Koi no Menseki, featuring Satomi Nakase, Lingshen Chao, and Satsuki Yotsuba. Once again, this is a 1st pressing which includes the Satomi contract card. Winner will receive the Magister Negi Magi! Mahora Gakuen Chuutoubu 2-A (Vol. 7) CD with the Satomi Nakase contract card. Here are the rules:

• Write up short chapter summaries for each chapter of Vol. 4 of the Love Hina manga (chapts. 25- 33). They do not need to be extremely long, just a short paragraph or two for each one similar to what I've been writing for the Negima summaries for uploaded chapters. Check the manga summaries for Vols. 1 and 2 for reference if needed. You must e-mail me with your submission and your name that you like to be referred to on the site by 11:59 pm Eastern Aug. 21 at: aquastar831@yahoo.com. The summaries of the chapters written in the body of the e-mail are fine. Entries after this deadline will not be accepted. Each person's name will be placed in a pot for the drawing, and the winner will be notified by e-mail, with their submission to be added to the Manga Guide section
• If you've already won a prize from previous site contests, you are not eligible to enter, as to give everyone who hasn't won yet a chance to receive a Negima prize.

My apologies for the really late and lack of updates this week as a presentation has kept me busy this past week. Updates will be done over the course of the weekend, along with a new contest and a new chapter of Negima. Also, for those of you who requested to write profiles for characters, I will send out a group e-mail with instructions. Mahou Sensei Negima/Magister Negi Magi - chapter 50 is now available. Having stopped Chigusa's new partner for the time being, Negi rushes in to save Konoka. Unfortunately, he's too late as the monster has successfully been summoned. Asuna and Setsuna arrive at the site, and it doesn't seem like there's anything they can do to stop it. As she swore that she would protect Konoka, Setsuna reveals her true form and goes to rescue Konoka. Suddenly, Negi hears a familiar voice, saying that he had been watching him fight. Who is this person?
