Polly's Chakra Knickers (on clothesline)
by Pauline June Ross (who survived)

Life was a walking meditation through the labyrinth of the mind. Λαβυρινϑος, Labyrinthos, Labyrinth. A structure or passageway through which it was difficult to find one’s way. HOW TO GET OUT?
If she found her way out of the labyrinth, would she be well? Would her good health come back? Would she be able to make it down the hall without leaning on the wall? Would she stop being so afraid? Would she be free?

      Λαβυρινϑος

      Labrynthos

      Labrynth

" "

Life was a walking meditation through of the labyrinth of the mind,
If she kept on walking steadily
A way out she would find. "

Knowing some Latin and Classical Greek doesn't help her. Being once V.P. of a Psychic Society doesn't help her. She can't see her way out of this.

Latin word - Timere - to be afraid
Timeo - I am afraid   Times - You are afraid   Timet - She is afraid
Greek - φοβοζ - Fear   φοβω - I am afraid
φοβειζ - You are afraid   φοβει - She is afraid
Here she stopped. The past tense was too difficult. In English, fear.

FEAR. FEAR, FEAR.

And now-- where was she now?

"Gloom is Doom
We can't have that
Stick a Tassel
In the Rim
Of your Hat"
'lessa tassel's a gloomy 'kook', but I've got one on my toque

---------There once was a woman, not young, not old, but somewhere in the middle-------

This was written and sketched in 1995 for a group of friends.
The Antics of the Outdoor Club

Out on a walk
Out on a hike
Out on a horse
Out on a bike
Out in the Spring
Out in the Fall
The Outdoor Club
Does it all
This was written in 1998, a year or so after the diagnosis of MS, DIAGNOSIS, MS, Multiple Shit, if you will.

And now,  The Antics of One

    "What is a walker
    Who cannot walk
    Let alone hike
    Got boosted on the horse
    Wobbled and fell
    Off the bike"

All the clever rhymes in the world can’t make this okay.

How could she be clever enough to make up palindromes in Latin,
ibi sumus ibi, here we are here,
XIX  I9   CIC  99   MIM  I999   LIL  49
An amazing one in Classical Greek--
'Α Θαλασσαλαθα'  ha thalassalatha  (Oh unforgiving sea)

And don’t forget Egypt - ‘TUT’

And she still couldn’t find her way out of the Labyrinth.

“Life is tough, I’ve had enough
I’ll try again later, when my head’s on straighter.”

“Life was a walking meditation through the labyrinth of the mind
If she kept on walking steadily
A way out she would find.”
And here was “Balderdash- sad red lab” to lead the way. Oh dear. She had a problem of her own. She felt tied down too. Oh well, at least she had company now, both of them did. Polly and Dasher, Balderdash-sad red lab.

Words of Hope
for Polly and
Dasher

“You are a tough cookie
I am a marshmallow
I thought at first
You were on the right track
But now I see
When the going gets tough
Cookies crumble
Marshmallows bounce back.”
“Feel sad for a while
But not for too long
Or your heart goes sour
And your mind goes wrong”

RHYMES

Here came Dasher
Dashing along
Singing a happy
Marshmellow song

A chickadee
Once sang to me
Life is cheerful
And full of glee
If you're full of sadness
Let it go let it go
I'll be singing tomorrow

The butterfly upon the hoof
Fears the creature
That goes woof
The butterfly
Upon the wing
Does not fear
Anything
