Biography
Dave
and Genevieve Davies have a long association with
street performing and entertaining at festivals and
other events. They performed as a music duo
for several years, with a repertoire of original songs,
blues, 50s rock'n' roll, classics from the 60s and
children's songs.
About
15 years ago the Gypsy Rollers Puppet Theatre was
born, and has been working regularly ever
since. The combination of Dave and Genevieve's artistic
and musical skills has produced a large cast of characters.
These beautifully created puppets fascinate audiences
everywhere. Each puppet has a strong individual personality,
which is always evolving.
Dave
and Genevieve work together writing original scripts
and songs to
suit different events and festivals. Together they
have written and performed many different shows, focusing
on a variety of subjects such as environment, conflict
resolution, recycling, world peace, daily living issues
such as television, health, exercise, and good old
fashioned FUN.
The
Gypsy Rollers Puppet Shows are musical plays with
lots of comedy, lots of audience
interaction and loads of fun. To date, they
have twenty different shows and more on the way.
David
is a prolific song writer who has recorded
an album of original songs. He plays guitar, harmonica
and vocals. All music in the shows is performed live.
Genevieve is a prolific artist, writer, puppet creator
and musician.
The
Theatre itself has evolved over the years
to become a small portable stage, which is a visual
treat for young and old. Dave and Genevieve have created
a unique and highly entertaining Theatre Company.
