Well finally I have seen the sun for a few days in the row and we are
in May, so the boating season is upon us. If you are like me you went down
to your boat and wanted to go right out but found a few things that needed
some work. Well, quickly fix those things that need it and come to our 2003
sailing and motoring events. Below is our calendar for the year. There are
several weekends without a scheduled event so if you want to be a sponsor
or just want some company please let us know where you are going and some
other members may show up.
If you received this newsletter by snail mail
I do not have your e-mail address. Please let me know if you want to get
on the e-mail list and send me your address.

Brigg Franklin is going to the San Juan Islands and will be the sponsor
of the summer cruise. He is putting together an itinerary for the trip. He
would like many boats to show up and sail with him.
Several club members are planning on going to Desolation Sound this year.
Linda Attaway and Brad Nelson are going to tow her Ranger 20 to Lund and
go from there. Mark and Cindy Kelsey are sailing their boat and make the
trip that way.
Tim and Dorothy Williams are planning a repeat trip to Ross Lake this
summer, no specific dates have been set. Due to the limited allowable moorage
on the lake contact them as soon as possible if you are interested in going.
If by any chance you have not yet gotten around to paying your membership dues, please send 10 Dollars to:

Teresa Kasner (R-26 Stargazer) has lost her centerboard, and has
been rebuffed by the (former) factory. This is the third R-26 board lost
in a couple of years, and there have been a couple of R-20 boards that have
gone to "sleep with the fishes" over roughly the same period of time. Teresa's
misfortune serves as another reminder that our beloved Ranger sailboats are
aging. While we had a factory to support us, it was just a matter of a little
expense. Now it's difficulty on top of expense as the new owners do not appear
to be very interested in supporting us.
If anyone has any suggestions please let us know.
