This video is of Kai and his friend Jasper collecting shells on the beach in the rain. I took the pictures of them about a month ago. I often take pictures of things I want to put on the blog and then don't get around to posting them right away. After a week or two pass I feel like it's not topical enough, but I really liked these pictures and enjoyed walking with boys and Jasper's mom Paula. I think they tune in regularly so I hope they get a kick out of seeing them.

Ben worked really hard to get this car: he overcame his compulsive tendency to spend money as fast as he made it to save up, and even more impressive, he wore down Tina and me to the point where we agreed to help him buy it. He negotiated the sale himself, and got the seller to lower his price. He even followed in the family tradition, and like both his older brother and his father, bought an old VW as a first car. And he is very, very happy.

Me? I'm happy to have this purchase behind me, and that I've got at least 12 years before I have to go through this again.
