About the Artist

From the time I was a little girl, for as far back as I can remember, if I saw a blank sheet of paper I had to fill it with drawings. My mother lost many writing tablets to my creativity. Fantasy art was my subject of choice for many years. Then I moved to the country and discovered my love for nature and colored pencil at about the same time. It has been a love affair with color and beauty ever since. It's a slow process but for me a fascinating one. I can get lost in a painting for hours. Calling something created with pencils a painting may seem strange, but after all you are applying layers of pigment to shape your piece and give it depth. I have been blessed with the help and encouragement of my friends and family in this wonderful journey. Beginning with my Mother Jane Dorr, an Artist in her own right, and my friends and co-workers at Just Framing where I discovered my second love, framing. I feel that I have only just begun a great adventure with my art, and I can't wait to see where it is taking me next.
