Hello and welcome to my website,

I taught at El Segundo Middle School for 18 years. During that time, I've taught 6th, 7th and 8th graders. I've been the yearbook teacher, girl's softball coach and accompanied students on many overnight trips to AstroCamp, Catalina, Washington DC and Outdoor Science School. A few years ago, I attended SpaceCamp in Huntsville, Alabama with teachers from all over the world. I've also coordinated and chaperoned trips to the Florida Keys and Everglades for the last several years. I've been honored as the ESMS Faculty Member of the Month, Bernard Shriever AFA Teacher of the Year 1998, El Segundo Unified School District Teacher of the Year 1998, California State Air Force Association Teacher of the Year 2001.

I am excited to start a new job at Parras Middle School teaching 7th grade Science for 2008/2009 school year.

In my spare time I enjoy reading, eating and sleeping! I love the Dallas Cowboys and don't give homework whenever they win! I'm also a Wonder Woman fan and love most animals (except spiders!). I have snakes, parrots, African fish and a dog. I also like to camp with my family and travel.

That's me in a nutshell!

Educational Philosophy
In today’s competitive global economy education becomes more and more important. Education is a privilege that should not be taken for granted. Quality education should be available to everyone, regardless of race, ethnicity, language, socio-economic background, sexual orientation, or gender. Teachers need to work hard in order to provide this education using “Standards” for each subject area according to local, state wide, or national standards.

The students have to work harder in order to receive the quality education they deserve. Every student who walks into my classroom has the same opportunities provided that he/she is willing to work diligently and abide by the rules of my classroom.I believe that we as teachers need to insure a safe learning environment for our students where all the students feel that they belong and that they have a chance to succeed. It is our responsibility to make sure that our classroom provides for individual differences (Gardener’s Multiple Intelligences) within our students and that we do our best to help our students to become responsible, respectful, well-rounded, educated individuals who will be able to succeed in today’s global society.
