The countdown has begun...

With just two days until we leave for India, we're frantically trying to make sure we have everything we need and nothing we don't.

It's rather chaotic here at home right now. That's because our home is in the first stages of deconstruction. We're packing everything up to go into storage while we're away. The movers come tomorrow, and we leave on Sunday (I'm writing on Thanksgiving). Tomorrow the movers will finish packing for us, and then they'll come back on Saturday to move everything into "door-to-door" storage units (which are supposed to be delivered tomorrow). The storage units will be picked up on Sunday, after we're in the air, and delivered (safely, hopefully) into storage.

Meanwhile, Marion and my mother, who came to help tend to Claire and Luc while we finish our packing, are organizing the packing of our bags. Marion's actually been slowly packing the bags for some time, and using the dining room table to stage everything, but now we have to begin seeing what will fit in our bags and what won't.

My mom has been a huge help. Luc, and especially Claire, have been a bit fussy and whiny (Claire whines, Luc fusses). My mom has put them into the stroller and headed off to the park and points beyond so Marion and I can continue packing. We're hoping my mom will come visit us in Kerala. Obviously it would be nice to have her help, but I think more importantly it would help give Claire and Luc a connection to home. They really enjoy having my mom around, and getting to see her while in India would make them quite happy.

I'll try to post one more time before we're on our way Sunday. If I'm lucky, maybe I can even steal some time to post from Dulles or Frankfurt (our two new layovers since the routing through Chicago was changed).
