“we'll be there for your pet when you can't!”
A Dog's Way provides services to meet your individual pet's needs. At a Dog's Way, we offer walking, boarding, pet visits, drop off & pick up services, and much, much more! On our group and individual walks, your dog will be picked from your home and returned happy and tired. They will be entertained with an active walk, and left with fresh water and food, if required. Home boarding, along with pet sitting is also available, where A Dog’s Way will visit with your pet and provide them with any care necessary. Our pet taxi is a convenient alternative to getting your animal to and from any appointments.
If I need to go out of town, what sitting services do you have available?
At A Dog's Way, we know how difficult it is to make arrangements for your pet while you are away. When boarding with A Dog's Way, we make sure your pet is relaxed and comfortable in their home away from home. During your dog's stay, they will be well exercised with daily neighbourhood strolls and off-leash excursions based on your preference and their behaviours. Your pet will have full access to a fenced in yard and will have run of the house while we are in. Pups are accompanied by house pets including Harley, a miniature pinscher and Maeva, a cuddly calico. A Dog's Way also accommodates pet visits if you prefer your animal to stay within your home while out of town. Your pet will be visited daily and provided with all care necessary.
Why should I get a dog walker?
A Dog’s Way will make your life easier while making your dogs life happier. We do our best to accommodate your lifestyle while helping you maintain a happy lifestyle for your pet. All your pet’s information, including emergency contacts and veterinary information is kept on file. This helps to keep us informed regarding all aspects of your animal. Notes are left at the end of each visit so you know your dog’s activities and any other details from their outing.
It is important for a dog’s mind to be kept active in order for them to be healthy and happy. Regular daytime activity provides mental stimulation. A good walk is the best way to exercise a dog that may not have the opportunity when they are at home alone. Dogs are social animals. Play with people and other friendly dogs, not only provides a dog with some of its exercise requirements, but also helps to meet social needs. Insufficient exercise, resulting in boredom can contribute to a variety of behavioural problems. It is especially important to ensure that a dog’s need for exercise has been met prior to leaving the dog home alone and prior to lengthy crating or confinement. However, sometimes it is not easy to fulfill your dog’s active requirements daily. That’s where A Dog’s Way can help!
How many times will you walk my dog?
It is completely up to you on how many visits you think your dog requires per week. For group walks, it is preferred that a minimum of three walks per week be scheduled. It is beneficial in this type of environment to ensure the dogs become accustomed to each other, as they will be happier and well adjusted.
Where will my dog be walked?
Depending on your pets’ needs, they will be walked in nearby neighbourhoods, parks or ravines. A Dog’s Way takes them to a variety of locations giving them the opportunity for exploration and variation.
How do you distinguish which dogs participate in which group walks?
A Dog’s Way ensures that the personalities within the groups are compatible. Dogs are not grouped based on breed or size, but more importantly by temperament and activity level. Aggressive dogs will not be permitted on group walks, however private walks are available for such temperaments. In general, if your dog is active and non aggressive, we believe a group walk is most effective. Group walks promote socialization and encourage play. If you are unsure, we will be happy to provide a trial private walk to determine your pet’s temperament and suitability in the group atmosphere.
