Sally has a Peace Garden Project which exposes children to many realms of ideas at the same time - gardening and the needs of plants rather than one's own needs, gardening and culture expressed in different kinds of plants grown, multicultural understanding through understanding the needs and gifts diversity brings ("Wouldn't a garden be boring if all were the same color?"), and the fundamentals of cooperation.
