The Guide to The National Drug Strategy is always a pleasure to pull together. Its a unique document that seeks to describe how policy is implemented and monitored from Government right down to the individual drug user. Used by government departments, police forces, Drug Action Teams, journalists, service providers and service users to help them understand the system better, the guide is easy to read, comprehensive and we hope fun.
Sometimes it feel I learn as much writing it as I hope others do reading it. Things turn over so fast in the drugs field that its easy to feel your knowledge is getting out of date. I find keeping the guide relevant keeps me on the ball. This is never so true as when we have a completely new strategy and new structures to get used to as we have in 2008.
What our readers said:
"I have been involved in police/partnership working on and off for over 20 years. During this time I have read hundreds of centrally produced strategies, policies, consultations and guides many of which were impenetrable, poorly written and instantly forgettable. It is therefore a breath of fresh air when I read something that is both informative, relevant and doesn't take itself too seriously. Thank you"
"Congratulations ... an excellent, digestible precis of some complex issues and more complex mechanisms. It will no doubt be hugely influential upon the field, especially on new entrants."
"very accessible and well written"
At the moment I'm available to deliver training and workshops based on the publication. These could be useful for your DAT or Crime and Disorder Partnership - or for the senior management team of a provider organisation. If you're interested, get in touch by clicking (who'd have guessed?) the words "get in touch" at the bottom of this page.
