Munich and the Dachau concentration camp. Many died at Dachau, but it wasn't a death camp, ovens were never used, no one knows why. Historians believe Dachau was a model for others that were built.

Munich was leveled during WWII. Rather than admit defeat, Nazis did nothing to
preserve Munich's treasures, Nazis took detailed pictures later used to rebuild.
Germans opted to rebuild Munich as it was. Construction still isn't finished!
