Snap Happy

On Sunday afternoon, on a cold and grey day, we decided to walk down to the market to get food for dinner (beef stew with dumplings - winter food), but also take a walk around Hoan Kiem Lake beforehand.

I got to take my new camera with me and snapped away like a newly arrived tourist! This is one of my favourite photos. I love the "tortoise tower" in the middle of the lake. It's the central focus of the most central part of Hanoi.

This picture was taken using child mode on the D50 - I wanted to try and get some colour into the picture since everything seemed grey and white. I love this photo! I love the greyness of Hanoi in the background, but how real and vibrant Russell looks in the foreground.

I am finding that the auto-focus can be a little limiting. Some items you want to focus on are not the closest things, so the camera doesn't want to focus on them. So I need to do a bit of research into the manual focus. I am such a beginner!
