Freeeezing!

The seasons in Hanoi are amazingly predictable. Winter starts at the start of December, and, surely enough, the past week has been VERY cold! About 2 weeks ago, we were in Autumn: lovely warm days of mid-high 20s. Perfect! Then - BOOM - December hits and the temperature drops 10 degrees immediately!

Yesterday was possibly the worst day so far - cold mist which turned to icy drizzle at various times through the day. Some wind (rare for Hanoi), which, combined with the wind-chill from riding around on a motorbike, makes everything feel about 20 degrees colder than it is!

Anyway, today we hit the "Russian shop" at Hanoi Towers to score some winter jackets.

We've actually been in Hanoi Towers a couple of times recently, and considered getting winter jackets then. But, like true procrastinators, we decided to wait until it was really cold - "so that we could see just how warm the jacket would need to be". So today we went into the shop and it was ABSOLUTELY PACKED! D'oh!

Luckily, we survived the crush and came out victorious! Here's Russell in his new jacket!
