Totally without relevance to Vietnam at the moment was this bombshell from the Apple World Wide Developers Conference today. From 2006 you will be able to buy Apple Macs built on Intel hardware. This was an incredible announcement that had much of the Mac community in a spin. The announcement highlights a number of things.
Apple has been developing Intel versions of OS X alongside the current PPC versions since OS X started. This is hardly surprising given the origins of OS X in NextStep which had an Intel version available when NeXT merged with Apple.
Secondly IBM has incurred the wrath of Steve in not making the 3Ghz for the G5 milestone they promised a year ago.
