Ooh yeh, this is our new favourite restaurant in Hanoi!
Dakshin is a vegetarian Indian place on Hang Trong street not far from Hoan Kiem Lake.
Reached down a long corridor...
... And then up 3 flights of stairs. It's a bit of an adventure getting there!
The restaurant itself is quite spacious and lovely. Wicker furniture and lovely windows looking onto the street below give it a very relaxed feel.
There are all the usual menu items: dry curries, curries with gravy, breads (butter naan - yum!), rice dishes, etc. Having tried quite a bit of the menu by now, everything we've had has been utterly delicious.
And the even better news, when we feel like some carnivorous action, is that there is another restaurant owned by the same people - The Tandoor - which serves meat dishes as well.
