The waterbed’s original headboard was just a slab of wood. We wanted a central place for the alarm clock, TV remote, etc. The sliding doors are nice storage places for stuff. I made it so it simply slips over the existing boards that the old headboard used to be screwed to. Only held together with glue and dowels, the top did warp a bit (it’s a huge board) and pulled apart some.

That little naked doll on the upper shelf is something my brother and I always snuck into each other’s room when I was a kid. We used ink pens to cover it with tatoos over the years.
