SECCOND

Following on from the original SECCON, we ran SECCOND over the late May bank holiday weekend in 2001. See the SECCOND main page for further details!

Seccon was a relaxed general SF convention held in Stevenage over the late May bank holiday 1999. Intended to have a light but varied schedule and plenty of opportunity to socialise, it was planned as a relaxed and enjoyable convention that would nonetheless feature a good range of SF-related programme items.

By and large, it would seem that we succeeded!

Our Guest of Honour was Stephen Baxter, award-winning author of such acclaimed works as The Time Ships, Voyage and Titan. Praised by SFX Magazine as "The best SF author in Britain", Stephen Baxter’s fiction ranges from universe-spanning epic hard SF to poignant alternate histories, as displayed in his recent collections Vacuum Diagrams and Traces.

Seccon was held at the Hertfordpark Hotel, venue for Mexicon 6 and Precursor.

The Seccon Committee were Simon and Bridget Bradshaw.
