"The Producers" Review

The Professor gives it an A

IMDB.com plot synopsis: The Producers tells the story of a down on his luck producer (Lane) and his accountant (Broderick) and their get rich quick plan.

It's a Mel Brooks production; how can it not be funny? He takes every cliche of the late '50's/early '60's musical and lampoons it hilariously. This version is worth seeing even if you liked the original movie, for its delightful raunchiness that couldn't have been put on the screen back in 1968 (at least not as I remember it) and for the addition of several hilarious musical numbers.

The casting is superb. Nathan Lane is hilarious; and I've been a fan of Matthew Broderick's work for a long time. He does not disappoint in this. Uma Thurman and Will Ferrell are very good in their supporting roles as well.

A definite win for a side-splitting afternoon.
