I'm faster than the bus!

YES! I managed to pedal all the way from the train station to my college (uphill) and I didn't have to "get out and push", not even once! My time was 39 minutes, which translates to an average of 5.2 mph (8.4 kph). With stoppage for traffic lights, etc., I'm probably chugging uphill in first gear at about 6 mph (9.7 kph.) It may not sound impressive to you, but it impresses me -- and it beats the bus.
