This is a hilarious set of journal entries written by a woman who was a clerk at a video store that included porn videos. It's several years old (with dates ranging from February-November 2002), but I'd never run across it before, so here it is. Supposedly The author appeared on NPR's "This American Life" (you can listen to the full episode: she comes in at 31'34") during the time that she was writing her entries, and her manager got wind of it (but didn't fire her). From what I can glean from her writing, she's an improv actor, but she took the video clerk job when things got slow. Apparently, she has a LiveJournal weblog, too.

Be warned, this material is decidedly NSFW, and probably shouldn't be read by anyone who's queasy about or offended by hardcore porn. There aren't any pictures, but still, the descriptions she provides give you an idea.

In any case, though, the author's writing style is very witty, and combined with situations that range from bizarre to funny, it makes for a very entertaining read. And it's not just that; she has a unique perspective on society and people in general, and her observations are pretty thought-provoking. Definitely worth a read.
