I think one of the most beautiful types of photographs are of abandoned human structures that are slowly succumbing to the elements. There’s something oddly reassuring about the fact that while humans can change the planet in drastic ways, Earth can still take over, given enough time.

This short Flickr set of the abandoned terminal at San Francisco International airport is one of those sets. It’s only been six years since it was closed, and according to the description, it’s supposedly scheduled for demolition sometime this year (maybe it already happened).

Nevertheless, I really like the dark and abandoned ambiance a lot.
