Chicago! Chicago!

How ya doin'ya'all?

French Polynesia seems many Buzz light years away now - never mind Fiji or the Cooks, New Zealand or Australia. South East Asia is just a blur.

We're seriously on the home straight now.

The States and Canada have been awesome. Finger-licking good. Krispy Kreme crazy. Burger Kingtastic.
Gawd knows how many pounds I've piled on.

So from the incredible "buster-gut buffets" of Vegas we flew to "broccoli and chicken" Chicago. Home of Caroline and Ken Ramsay. And what a gorgeous home too! complete with gigantic fridge. Thank goodness there are health freaks who steered us AWAY from the 80 foot sandwiches and deep fried pizzas into their home gym. Gawd almighty. They nearly killed us. Bless 'em!

Having arriving looking like a couple of dodgy vagrants complete with dirty feet with seriously cracked heels, we left feeling fitter, slightly slimmer and proud owners of fluffy bunny-rabbit feet
Thanks to them we were able to cycle around the city of Chicago. A great City, perched on the edge of Lake Mitchigan, with a fabbie skyline, gorgeous shops, beaches, parks and zoo. The weather was glorious. Perfect for sipping cool pints of cider whilst watching the world go by. Whilst Ken and Simon were delirious playing "gadget man", I was in heaven. Me and Caroline did some serious shopping, chatting, hair dying and cutting. All in all, we were thoroughly spoiled in their lovely home.

They took us to some fancy stores, but we were happiest rummaging through the sale rails at TJ Max (TK Max's sister)like a couple of Eastern European Political Asylum Seekers looking for that perfect sweater to wear whilst cleaning cars on the Kirkstall Road.

As for the spreading waistline, these guys attempted to get us into shape. Broccoli really was compulsory at meal times (not a donut in sight!) and we both had to earn our keep by working out in their gym.

So just as our fluffy new feet were just coming back into view...... we greyhound it eleven hours across the border into Canada, along with some black rapper-dudes, many hispanic maids and nannies and a Amish family obviously returning to their little house on the Prairie!

Having done Toronto 5 times already, we've not felt the need to tear around all the sights, favouring instead to watch Paul and Nat's humungous TV, whilst being force fed mini-brownies and chocolate milk shakes. Simon has managed to stay waifer thin, resisting the zillions of scooby snacks offered 24 hours a day, whilst I'm growing larger by the second, enjoying the pancakes, cookie dough, chocolate chips and ice creams (many many flavours still to try).

The weather in Toronto has been fairly humid and wet. The tan is fading fast. Mackensie (their 3 your old daughter) is a lovable little thing. She keeps us on our toes - morning, noon and night, whilst Putney (the Welsh Springer Spaniel) is just adorable.

Jaw-wiring or stomach stapling is looking like a serious option after another week here!.

We will be back real soon.

Looking forward to seeing you all again.

Much Love

Lisa and Simon
