Portraits may take anywhere from 2 to 6 months to complete, depending upon the size and content selected. If you have a specific date by which you would like a completed portrait, please keep this in mind and let me know at the time you order.

I work from photographs, and prefer to take my own – generally 24 shots of 35 mm color film. If you have a photo, or photos, that you want used for the portrait, my ability to work from your photo(s) will depend upon the clarity and quality of the print being used. I will work with your photo(s) if at all possible.

You are welcome to view the portrait in progress and to make any comments or critiques. It is my goal to provide you with a portrait of lasting value and beauty, a keepsake that will bring you pleasure for many years to come. I use archival quality materials with this goal in mind, and recommend that all colored-pencil & pastel portraits be dry-mounted, matted, and framed under glass. Do not place glass directly on painting. Do not hang your portrait in direct sunlight or the colors will fade.

A 30% deposit is required when the portrait contract is made, with final payment due upon completion. If you are not satisfied with the portrait at the time it is done, you may refuse the portrait and not pay the remaining fee. However, the down payment is non-refundable as it covers time, materials, and artistic resources invested in the work.

You will receive one 8” x 10” professional photo of your portrait along with the original artwork. Copies of the photo may be ordered within 30 days for an added fee. All artwork and photos are copyrighted material and may not be reproduced without written permission from the artist.
