TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

As an educator, my primary aims are to bring students to question themselves and to critically evaluate what they are learning. It is my belief that students learn best when they are responsibly engaged in the exchange and application of ideas. I expect students to leave my classes feeling great pride in what they have learned and
accomplished. I am seldom disappointed.

I have successful experience in evaluating, analyzing, and modifying behavior; conducting and supervising analytical research and report writing; and the developmentof tutorials for training purposes. My education, training, and experience represent practical applications in developmental psychology, behavior modification, individual education programming, counseling, and assessment techniques. I have worked with diverse populations, including incarcerated youth and adults.

*Commitment to research, service, student success, and professional responsibility
*Strong background in research design, methodology, statistical analysis, and data collection procedures
*Effective use of software in data analysis with quantitative and qualitative resources
*Communication skills evident through publications, presentations, and collaborative research
*Technical skills in SPSS, NUD*IST, Excel, PowerPoint, Dreamweaver, and SUNY ANGEL online learning environment
