We're getting close to opening and things are picking up dramatically! We get wood for the bars, start on the front door, and make progress all over.

Start with a trip to Watsonville to get wood for the 12' and 15' long bars.
Fortunately, they have it; bloodwood. And, at over 15', they'll do just right.
That's bloodwood. Beautiful stuff.
Here's Chris Osborn of Aasand Construction strapping them down to his pickup.
And we're off, leaving Steve Jackel's place and back to the East Bay.
At Zocalo, the laminate and granite is about to go it, things are shaping up.
At the front, the door supports go in. We're moving the front doors in 3 feet.
Scooping out the holes for the metal posts and concrete.
Wood framing around the metal posts.
Walls go up between the posts and the outside wall. This will be an entryway.
It will have wooden sides. Doors, set in, will swing out. There's a slope up.
Fitting the doors to the utility closet in the hallway.
In the back, door trim gets painted, other doors await painting, staining, etc.

A quick trip to the laminate store...
Here's the laminate, two types, rear counter and wall treatment.
Here's the wall laminate. On this will go metal shelving.
Measure twice, cut once.
Here's the laminate for the rear counters. No, they aren't ALL granite.
Here's a closer shot, they're a little dusty. The gap is for the deli case.
Here Juan Carlos installs a ceiling fan.
And another.
Here they are in action.

Trash, recycling, & organics have flip doors to put trash into.
These are the front of the bean drawers, they are resting against bookshelves.
The end of another long day.
