I worked in Austria for five years and thus we had a chance to see many of the interesting
places that Europe has to offer. Italy was one of our favourites - we visited Venice and then
Rome, each on 4 day long weekends and then we camped for about 3 weeks, enjoying
ancient towns and the beautiful countryside. There is still much more to see.
The order that I have presented here is loosely from North to South to help keep the
geography simple.
The quality of the pictures varies. In 1998 to 2001 I used a (then) good 1.4 megapixel
camera for the pictures of Venice and Rome (I actually used much less than its capabity as I
didn't want to buy memory cards at over $100 for 16 megabytes!). The rest of the pictures
were taken during a 2002 trip using a 2.0 megapixel camera for which the memory cards
were cheaper but still somewhat limited.
* Shirley's note: You won't see many photos of Malcolm here because I took those on my
35mm camera and the prints are now in photo albums. Malcolm says it takes too much time
to scan them for use on the website. Hmmm.
