The following are spreadsheet renderings of data generated by a medical practice during the first two years of its establishment. Low collection percentages are typical of rural communities where patient populations are heavy with indigent patients. On the first graph, notice where the black line (actual collections) crosses the red line (actual expenses). This is the point where the physician is encouraged to establish his/her practice independence. The huge spike generated by the red line at the end of the first year of practice represents the first of four parts of the loan forgiven.
